Have you heard?

So the past two weeks I was up late at night, it was on the weekend so do not worry, I heard an owl out side of my house and one night my honey said that some Arctic Owls were down here.  I could not believe this!  They are so beautiful and to actually see one would be a once in a lifetime experience.  So I jumped up from my cozy little couch and tried looking outside to see if it was this Arctic Owl.  Unfortunately I did not see any nor the owl that was making noise.

So these beauties are from way up north in the Arctic, the experts are uncertain for sure why there are here, but I heard that they ran out of food up north.  Apparently they listen in the snow for a mouse underneath and when they hear it they dig it out.  How cool is that?  Even though that may not be the exact reason they are hear, I've heard that and they had more offspring this year, the climate change, and lots of babel.  These birds are so unused to human habitat that they have been known to fly into telephone lines and been hit by cars because they will not fly away.
Here in Missouri there have been 35 sightings and about 60 or so in Kansas.  I am hoping I get to capture the beauty of one before they head back here in a month or more.  My grandparents might have one staying in one of their trees I need to get over there and investigate.

Keeps your eyes our for a white garbage bag looking thing in trees.  That is what I heard they might look like.
